The research team at NACHRED have background in relevant fields of engineering and sciences as shown in the different profiles. These have over the years designed and constructed different types of turbines with varying capacities and specification amongst them are;

  • 24 cups, single nozzle, Pelton wheel hydro turbine
  • 16 split-cups, double nozzles, Pelton wheel hydro turbine
  • Axial hydrokinetic turbine
  • Double stage Savonius hydrokinetic turbine
  • 5kw T-12 cross-flow turbine
  • H-darrieus hydrokinetic turbine

Plans are underway to develop the capacity-building aspect of our mandate through collaborations with relevant agencies, the Department of Water Resources (University of Ilorin), and the Centre for Open and Distant Learning (CODL) for a wider reach.
